This is one of the most common questions we get from small business owners in Sri Lanka, and the honest answer is: it depends heavily on who's designing it and what you actually need. Here's a realistic breakdown so you know what to expect before you start asking around.
Why the price range is so wide
You'll find logo design offered anywhere from a few hundred rupees to hundreds of thousands. That gap exists because "logo design" can mean completely different things — a quick icon picked from a template, versus original concepts, revisions, and a full set of files ready for print, web and social media.
- Template or AI-generated logos — fastest and cheapest, but not unique and often hard to reuse across different formats
- Freelance/agency custom design — original concepts built around your business, usually with a few rounds of revisions
- Full brand identity packages — logo plus colour palette, fonts, business card and letterhead layouts, social media kit
What actually affects the price
Beyond the designer's experience, a few things reasonably move the price up or down:
- How many original concepts you're shown before picking a direction
- How many rounds of revisions are included
- Whether you get vector source files (so it scales to any size without quality loss) or only a flattened image
- Whether it's just a logo, or a logo plus a mini brand kit (colours, fonts, usage guide)
- Turnaround time — rush jobs usually cost more
A cheap logo that you have to redo in a year usually ends up costing more than paying slightly more for one built properly the first time.
What to actually ask for
Whatever budget you're working with, ask the designer directly for: the source/vector file (not just a PNG), a transparent-background version, and both a light-background and dark-background version. These three things alone will save you from re-ordering a logo redesign later just to get a usable file format.
What our logo packages cost and include
We quote in US dollars because many of our clients find us through Fiverr, but the packages are the same for clients in Sri Lanka. The prices below are starting points, and we confirm the scope with you on WhatsApp before anything begins.
- Starter Logo, $30. One logo concept, 5 revisions, PNG and JPG files and 3-day delivery. It suits a new business or side project that needs a clean mark quickly.
- Full Brand Identity, $80. Three logo concepts, unlimited revisions, full source files with your brand colours and fonts, a business card design and 7-day delivery.
- Brand System, $245. Everything in Full Brand Identity, plus a social media kit, a letterhead and stationery set and a simple brand style guide, with 10-day delivery.
Which package do you actually need?
If you only need a logo to get started and will handle the rest yourself, the Starter Logo is enough. Keep in mind that it comes as PNG and JPG files only, so if you need the vector source files a printer or web developer will ask for, choose the Full Brand Identity instead.
The Full Brand Identity is the better value if you want to choose between three directions and keep changing things until you are happy. If you are launching packaging, a website and social media at the same time, the Brand System keeps everything matching from day one, which is usually cheaper than fixing mismatches later.
